History
R & S Transport was founded in 1990 by the father and son team of Robert Elwood
and Steve Elwood. Their humble beginnings started with one small van and a telephone.
After three months and sky-rocketing customer satisfaction, they bought their second van. Within this first year, Steve provided most of the transportation while his mother, Rosie, handled the company’s dispatching responsibilities. As the business started to grow, so did the fleet of vehicles.
What started as a company with one van quickly became a bustling fleet of 10 vehicles and 12 employees. In 1997 the company moved into their current location on Highway 14 East. Today, R&S Transport provides a full service of transportation options including wheelchair service, ambulatory service and stretcher service. R&S Transport also services the city’s ZIPS line and individualized school bus service for ISD #535.
Presently, they operate a fleet of 65 + wheelchair, stretcher and ambulatory vans as well as 6 buses. The company now employs more than 100 team members and is a vital and integral part of the healthcare delivery system.
